Gunsmithing Bedding?

im working up an old K98 (see "Budget surplus K98 Build") and im trying to figure out how i should bed it. if i free float the barrel do i even need to worry about glass bedding the barrel channel? is action bedding even worth it? if i do end up glass bedding what brand should i use? ive heard alot about acraglas and brownells steel bed.

Use Steel bed, dont know about the rest.

Bedding compound does very well for sealing up the barrel channel to keep any mooisture out, and just makes it a one step process along with bedding the action. I've had acceptable results with most of the products out there, but normaly use Pro Bed 2000 from Score High.

devcon comes in smaller tubes for a decent price if you dont need a whole pound of it. also look at midwayusa.com for both the devcon and the score-high kit. it has everything you need in smaller quantities. links below. take lotsa pics

+1 on Marine Tex. Can get it at most hardware stores for $15.00 and it will do 2 or 3 rifles.

i think ill go for the score-high kit. just because it comes in a kit. i also saw the miles gilbert kit. anyone used that?
