Sidearms & Scatterguns Benelli Stock is Gummy

Haven't been in this subforum of SH until now, so pardon me if there's threads on this already.

I have a Benelli Cordoba 12ga.that i pulled outta the safe for dove season today, and the stocks are like wet glue, even stays on your hands. Anyone else had this problem? Is there an easy fix? I have had zero cleaners or solvents touch the forend or stock, only cleaned with a damp rag, and stored in the safe. Thanks.

It is a known issue on the Córdoba, which has now been discontinued. I don’t think there is a fix other than sourcing a new stock set. Maybe a simple M2 stock set would fit or the stock set from a SuperSport.

For what it's worth, i scoured the gum off it with rubbing alcohol and a rag. Nice and slick now, we'll see what happens next..

Contact Benelli customer service, they’ll ask for the serial number and most likely send a replacement stock.
They did for my Córdoba 20 ga.
I sent them an email in February, took a little bit of time as the rear stock was on back order, I ended up with a brand new forearm and stock.
Awesome customer service.
Didn’t even have to hassle sending the old one back.

That sounds like an issue with the plastic that is used in that stock. Cheap plastics often have a problem with the plasticizing agent separating with the solid polymers inside and appearing as a perpetual gummy and sticky residue on the surface of the plastic.

Where was that stock made? I have two laptop portable external battery units that were made in Vietnam and China that are exhibiting this problem. I tried to use a rag soaked in both isopropyl alcohol and Birchwood Casey SHEATH and it has not removed the stuff. Both are high quality power units except for that issue. I have another unit made in South Korea and it does not have this issue.
