What's the BC on those? No, just to 600 yards. They did better in the wind and definitely elevation than the 175 SMK's I was comparing that day.
Like them enough to order enough to shoot this barrel out.

I've got some 155-S that. I could try but everyone says. They will not work very well for long rangeNo, just to 600 yards. They did better in the wind and definitely elevation than the 175 SMK's I was comparing that day.

The ballistics say it will be north of 1350fps at 1000Copied from Sierra's site: https://www.sierrabullets.com/product/30-caliber-7-62mm-155-gr-tmk/
.519 @ 1900 fps and above .490 between 1900 fps and 1600 fps .420 @ 1600 fps and below
I don't know but I've seen where a lot of guys say the 155's won't make it at 1000 and be able to hit anythingUsing the Litz calculated BC on JBM, they are still at 1180FPS at 1000 yards when they are leaving the barrel at 2800 FPS at sea level which is easily achievable even from a 22” barrel with moderate loads with a lot of different powders suitable for 308.
My best combo185 juggernauts for me 2000mr will get the speed you need
What's your barrel length? My go to is 175 SMK, 43.5 IMR 4064, 64-67 7.62x51 LC NM brass. Yields 2733 fps and .5 MOA out of both rifles (FN SPR and Savage 10PD). The brass has thicker bases than commercial .308 or newer M80 brass.
How much powder? I've got some jugs I can tryMy best combo
Both rifles are 24 inches. The SPR is 1-12 and the 10PD is 1-10.What's your barrel length?
I'm running a 1-10 @ 22" . I haven't choreographed em but I doubt I'm much past 2650fps. Need a chrono though to really knowBoth rifles are 24 inches. The SPR is 1-12 and the 10PD is 1-10.
Id go with a 10 twist tooguys following this thread as I am about to upgrade my tikka t3x tac a1…..putting the tikka t3 action in a new chassis and new barrel. Been shooting 175 grn sierras and doing ok. this gun is used for PRS matches only out to 1000k. My barrel options are as such….24” MTU 1:10 rock creek cut rifled or 26” MTU 1:9 rock creek button rifled. Of those two given I will stay with the 175grn and maybe give the 185 jugs a try , which barrel would you suggest?
Your full of shit! I'll bet your son shot that with the scope I sold you for him. Finally got a load worked out. Got a chrono and that let me know that my speed was good enough. Thank goodness
That's a 3 shoot group of 308 at 100yds
Well since that was 2-1/2 years ago, it was definitely me. My little man does well but he isn't able to do that just yet. Which scope is that you're talking about?Your full of shit! I'll bet your son shot that with the scope I sold you for him.
Just busting your chops. Seriously, nice shooting! Never tried the 185's. Only used the 175 SMK and 178 ELD-X. Tried the Warner Tool 160gr but just could not get any accuracy out of them. I think it was a 1-6 USO for your son.Well since that was 2-1/2 years ago, it was definitely me. My little man does well but he isn't able to do that just yet. Man I may have to give those a go. I love me some 175smk's in my .308. If it's tipped and will shoot like those then it's gonna be a winner for sure.169SMK. BC is knocking on the 190gr bullet and you can push it faster than the 190gr type bullets. The 169 is a pointed/tipped bullet from Sierra. They've got the tipping thing figured out. So no need for buying a meplat trimmer etc.. to uniform the tips. It's also got a longer boattail vs the old 168smk. If I recall correctly it's similar to the 175smk. Both of these things really helped the new bullet.
I got a box of 500 of them and they have been awesome to shoot!
I'm going to say you need a 11.5 twist or faster for the 169's. I don't think they will fly good out of a 12 twist barrel. They might and might not. At 2600fps my twist calc gives me 1-12.01 min twist required.
Yeah that's it. It's on his .22lr and it's perfect for him. It's a good little scope.Just busting your chops. Seriously, nice shooting! Never tried the 185's. Only used the 175 SMK and 178 ELD-X. Have to agree with Frank, using mine out of a 20" barrel on a bolt gun, 1:10 twist with IMR 4046 and they work very well. Haven't tried the Juggernauts yet but mostly because I have about 1,000 of the Sierra 169's. I haven't found a load for those bullets which work for my gas gun 308 with a 16" barrel but haven't spent a lot of time on it either.169SMK.
