Ok guys somebody offered to buy my semi built 700 308 tactical for quite a bit more then I had into so it was hard to say no. Anyways I have a budget of 1600 for my next rifle and it seems this here might be the best for my money. Seems like for the stock alone its a killer deal. What do you guys think?

Re: Best deal for 1600

My brother has an FN SPR too. He just got a new bolt handle installed, it is a nice addition. Not to many will do them on a FN. If you want the info. I will get it for you. You have made a great investment there! Chrome barrel that you will never wear out. Once you get her in and ready post your range report. I had a post a month ago now when I painted mine. Yes a Krylon bath. Check it out you will see some nice FN's. It was called "Yet another painted FN SPR BEAST!!"

Mark Gordon of Short Action Customs does fantastic bolt knob work for the FN's.

Here is one he did for me.

It seems like a solid choice...I will be picking mine up friday hopefully. Fluted with detach. I also impulse bought a used sps tactical in 308 (guy was giving it away), damn thing shot 3 groups just over .5 moa today in that crappy hogue stock with my 175smk load. Figures, an off the shelf rifle shot better then my semi custom remmy I just sold.

Re: Best deal for 1600

FN SPR DBM's,are of lesser COAL than a 700 box, which is a glaring void on a 3" COAL capable platform.

For 1600 clams I'd be building,though I am a C/L tube fan.

My FN SPR DBM 308 did nice things and the knob is a nice touch there, like anywhere else except a boomer. A 308 longer than 22",is simply a concession.
