I have the rifle and a 54.18 and would like to know how many of you are using ""BLANK"" scopes and why .
    type
    reticle
    power
    Variable ?
I am thining of getting a Mildot fixed so I can range estimate and it would be a lot closer to the AW and PGW rifles I have .
wuill be shooting 100 yds and more

    So let her rip

    Thanks in advance

Bill, I just posted this a couple of days ago and it works for your question also..

I have a Vortex Viper (BDC) on my 40X (22LR) and like it, with the exception of the turrets... but you get what you pay for..

I have been through a whole bunch of scopes on 10/22, 17HMR and .22Lrs and find I always go back to more magnification.. So personally I'd go with something along the lines of what you would put on a center-fire rifle magnification wise .. the 6-20X Viper is "just about right there".
Now from a training point of view.. it's useful to zoom back to like 8 to 10X on those 200yrd shots to get the "feel" of long range.. but at least you have options when you have a 6-20X zoom.

btw that's a fantastic Annie in the for-sale section... I'm sorely tempted.... but have a 40X Rimfire already...

Hate Mil-dots btw.. very old fashioned compared to some of the new reticles..

    Bill,
I find that the same considerations are applied to my rimfire as to my centerfires, with the addition of they must focus closer.

The tracking and repeatability are no less important.
If I could afford an ST17 for a rimfire I would do it (esp with a beautiful one like your Fortner).
At the moment my 22 trainer slot has gone vacant due to the economy, but I was happy with a 16X Super Sniper in that role ( it matches the 16X MK4 on my 7-08).

Right now there are options to use the 11 mm rail or place an adapter for the weaver mounts over it then the weavers will fit so there are some pretty good options.
If you have not tried a Fortner you need to its unreal.

Yes, the Vortex Viper has a 30mm tube.. as I mentioned the only feature I don't like on the Viper is the turrets, they work have good clicks but I prefer something bigger like on the Bushnell 4200 Elite or the SS etc...

Unfortunately, i have tasted the forbidden fruit and now have and S&B... it's tough to be kind to $300 scope one you have done that..

I have <span style="font-weight: bold">not</span> played with one on purpose. The Fortner actioned Annie is one of those thing on my "<span style="font-style: italic">don't even touch until you can afford it</span>" list!

If the reciever top is rounded and has the 11mm rail milled into the radius you may want to see if one of Rimfire Technologies' bases will line up well with 1827's ejection port. I ran their 20moa extended base and it was really nice.

If the receiver is different I'd suggest BKL. Their single strap cantilevers are out of stock, but the double clamps are in stock:

I just this week put a 20MOA mount on my CZ452 the Rimfire tech parts are expensive but well manufactured..
