I actually think they grew up at a time when they would have gotten a very good education on American values and backgrounds. The problem is most of these people were radicalized in the 1960s during the anti-Vietnam war movement. And much of the radicalizing was done by communist and socialist forces. Many of them paid and controlled right out of the former Soviet union and eastern bloc. They may think that they’re being all American. And that they really are patriots for doing what they’re doing.The fact bear otherwise.

I have a 33 year old brother in law that lives in tent city here in Charlotte. He's had multiple strokes, major heart surgery and lost a kidney due to blood infections associated with heroin use. I watched him grow up in an environment where he had zero responsibility or accountability. He's been in and out of jail and rehabs paid for by either his parents or the public. My in-laws always take him back in and support him unconditionally. The way he was raised has most certainly had an impact on how he turned out, but he's a grown man now. He's beyond the point where his parents or anyone else can solve his problems for him. He's either going to sort his shit out on his own or he's going to die.
I don't disagree with you. My point was more that his kids aren't likely to be in good shape because of an economic empowerment program or whatever, and certainly not because we start to tell him that his lifestyle is just another valid choice. His kids will do better by being the fuck away from him. It's one thing when you are talking about random dude X like your brother in law, and another when we come to realize that, mainly through our own policies, we have created communities that consist of way too high a level of this. I'm really not for taking peoples kids from them, but a lot of the really violent areas in the country need something that makes a clean break between what is happening now, and the kids that are not destined to be another generation of the same shit. I don't know what that is, but I believe it is the operative question.

I understand the math just fine, but it comes down to the fact that there are a few shithole neighborhoods in every city that have high crime and murder rates but its the population of low crime areas surrounding them that dictate the per capita crime rate. The fewer low crime, high population areas, the greater the per capita crime rate.
