I have heard that if you want the weapon silenced. To buy the biggest one you can find. you can put a bigger silencer on a smaller caliber but never the oppisite way around. So if im going to silence a .338 lapua. its best to buy a .50 caliber silencer. Is this info accurate?

Re: Bigger silencer

Yes and no. Go with a 338 can. They are sized appropriate to the volume of gas on that round. If you ever plan on running it on anything smaller than the 338, the hole on the 50 cal can will be too large. Look at the TBAC or AAC Titan.

He has said all that needed to be said!!! I agree. Go caliber appropriate.

Re: Bigger silencer

My AWC Thundertrap .338LM works well on .308 and similar rounds making it nice and versatile. I do wish I had ordered Ti since its heavy but I have Ti AWC cans or order or pending now too for that wish. Once you get one you will want more count on it. Buy a high grade CAN that many here have spoken well of and I am sure you will be hooked. PGG
