Ok, So the BOBRO is really one sweet mount. It mounts solid with 0 movement and hols zero from Lonewolf's sweet review, but since I got mine used could anyone give me a tip on mounting a scope in it? The bolts are crazy on this mount. You actually thread a bolt head on to upside down threaded studs so it is completely backwards from traditional mounts. Once I got my scope lined up perfect in the rings and leveled, It was a huge pain in the ass to try and tighten the rings and keep the scope level since the locking mechanism interferes with the allen wrench. The only way I could get the scope in was to remove the locking mechanism and tighten the scope into the rings, then place this back on the locking part of the mount and hope it was level, if not I had to take it back off and readjust. I wish they had just left the bolts on top.

Re: BOBRO scope mount upside down mounting

I agree that it is a pain. I actually contemplated doing the installation as part of the review, but I was out of time.

I generally like to torque all the screws on my mounts to spec, but it's almost impossible with the locking lever in the way. What I ended up doing was getting everything lined up and snugged down by hand, then I torqued the screws I could reach.

Obviously from the performance in the test it held well enough.

We may have another BOBRO mount coming in soon. If it has the same bolt design, then I will do a tutorial video on getting the scope mounted up.

Like all of you other videos, that will be a good one Lonewolf. I look forward to it.

Re: BOBRO scope mount upside down mounting

The latest Bobro mounts have the studs on the bottom for easier & more traditional installation now...check out this S.H. thread from January .

Re: BOBRO scope mount upside down mounting

I might get another one if they are going to flip the threads. I didn't like the upside down nuts with the special one of a kind wrench you had to have to tighten the rings so I sold mine.
