I began mounting my scope on Badger rings and for some reason couldn't find the right bit. There was the t15 that at first was ok until I began tightening and it slipped. So I called Boris and wanted to make sure I'm using the Borka correctly. It seems he might think that it's a torx plus. Anyone else with Badger rings having issues?

Re: Borka B.O. screws?

Contact Badger. I have Badger rings that are over 5 years old, and purchased the most recent pair about 3 months ago. All have standard T-15 Torx fasteners. Where did you get the mount? Was it NIB?

Let us know the outcome.

Just for the record B.O. does not serialize the 1 piece scope mounts.

Mount was purchased brand new from Scopeoptics and Jay has been great!

Just got off the phone with Marty @ B.O. and I directed him to this link so he can have a look. He basically said they purchase a ton of screws and wrenches and to see this happen is odd. He is sending me 8 replacement screws and a new torx wrench. I'll keep you guys posted.

Re: Borka B.O. screws?

Hi All,

The customer contacted me a bit ago, here is the outcome:

It is our mount, and the screws do look a bit weird, but I think its because they have had the finish rubbed off the top edge. A better pic with better light would do would help.

They are the same T-15 screws we have always used, made by Camcar Textron (now called Accument) in central Iowa, inventors of the torx.

They are not Torx Plus. That being said I am perplexed, we buy 50,000 screws at a time, they come in boxes of about 16,000 ea.

The odds of getting one bad screw in a set of rings is pretty low but reasonably possible, the odds of getting 8 are Lotto odds.

I am sending the customer a new set of screws and a wrench.

If you (and I mean all you Hider's) ever have any problems with Badger stuff, call me I will make it right.
