I'm not exactly sure if my idea really makes lot sense to people with related experience, but here it is:

1. Borka Tools Torque driver is the lightest and the most compact multi torque settings driver, optimized for use on scopes/mounts/action screws.

2. Available accessories are also light and compact.

3. This opens some opportunities to have tool kit built right into the rifle stock.

4. Tool kit will be highly optimized for specific rifle.

5. In most of the cases, rifle stock may be potentially modified to have a small compartment for such tool kit.

6. Rifle stock/tool kit combo does appear, at least to me, to have some practical sense for field use.

7. If somebody is interested to build precision/sniper rifle with designated compartment in the stock for Borka Tools torque driver kit, I'll be happy to cooperate with the builder.

Happy New Year to all SH members!

P.S. I'll be at 2011 Shot Show booth #2308 (Dave Manson Precision Reamers).

Or if it would be easier, you could do one similar to the patch boxes on flint lock rifles (open from the side). Nifty idea, I like it.

Interesting idea. But then you MAY compromise your rifle stock's strength. If you could have one custom built from carbon fiber WITH a pocket for said tool molded in, it MAY work but only if done correctly. Carry the tool in your pack, it's cheaper & can be done NOW.

Re: Borka Tools - an idea for rifle stock projects

I certainly agree that carrying tool kit in a pack has an advantage of using KISS principle. On the other hand, there are so many places in rifle stock, particularly produced by injection molding, which are currently often made "hollow", say foreend or most of the buttstock anyway. Stresses on the stock in foreend or main body of buttstock are not that great... In the past, it would be a challege to fit, say, Wheeler FAT wrench or Seekonk T-handle inside the stock, too much room would be needed, and resulting weight increase is not something that most people would want. But my torque driver is so small and light weight, it becomes technically possible to comfortably store it inside the stock. An obvious advantage is that if it inside the stock, it is less likely to be lost than when it is inside the pack, and also, can be accessed faster by the user, if situation requires. Driver with, say, 4-5 bits and a 1/2" hex socket will only weight 6 ounces, and can be fitted inside real small compartment.
