Boyds stock ?

Re: Boyds stock ?

I can't answer that question until Monday as that is when mine is due to arrive. I have a Boyds Thumbhole on my .300 whisper as well as my howa supreme varminter and am very happy with their laminate stocks. I was going to go with the tacticool for my TR but chose the hunter instead. The TR is missing it's stock because I transferred an FV-SR into it, looks great with the 16" threaded barrel.

Re: Boyds stock ?

I put one on my FV-SR, I like it because it has a fullsize feel to it and rides bags pretty well, Plus it handles extremely well offhand with the shape of the forend and palm swell.

Re: Boyds stock ?

Mine just came out of the box, I really like the feel of it. It seems like I need to clean up the inletting on the bottom a bit but other than that if fits perfectly.

DIP?

Re: Boyds stock ?

I have the DIP trigger guard. After I fix the inletting to sit flush the factory screws will work fine. The trigger guard came with the rear screw so you are covered there and I took the screw holding the magazine metal off of the factory stock for the front. I already have a front plate I made out of 1/8" carbon fiber for my TR so i used that.

Re: Boyds stock ?

I actually just bought a Boyd's Tacticool stock for my Marlin model 60... online it said there is some minor fitting that would need to be done.

Ha when I got it I found out that you have to inlet the entire length of the forend. I ended up pulling out my hand held grinder and just kind of made a big long ditch for my tube to fit, finished the front with a file. Now that its on I love it.. but its a little bit of work first.
