Apologies for the scummy link from Newsweek, I'm sure it's elsewhere.
Interesting video how she handled it. First I support what she did and glad she took him out. But to me it looked like she shot the guy with an innocent person directly behind the guy, which could have been a horrible accident. I'm not sure if I could have made a split second decision like that either, just an observation. They were both lucky.
Second I'd be hunting down that red car ASAP and beat the crap out of the driver for pulling away, leaving the police officer exposed and unprotected had the bad guy retained his gun. I guess the driver was also exposed and wanted to get away but still, it looked like a crappy thing to do. Another case where seeing a video doesn't tell you the whole story... if I had my kid in the passenger seat I'd want to get out of there ASAP no matter what myself.
Certainly shows how reality isn't so cut and dry, I'm glad she nailed the guy but it could have easily turned bad but for a half a second and a tiny bit of bad luck.
Lots of respect for LEOs in similar situations. Lots of moving parts to go wrong.
