Hey guyes i am in the market for a new rifle case. So far I have had just cheap hard cases. They are fine but it does not allow me to carry anything but just the rifle.
I am not looking for a mil spec bag i drag accross the planet. Just a reasonable bag to allow me to transport my rifles and accessories tot the range or hunt.
I found two that appeal to me and wondered if anyone had any experience or could reccoommend anything better for around the same price.
OPMOD bag not a drag bag/mat(dunno why its listed as that) holds 2 rifles and junk

cabelas "tactical"pockets, and looks like molle straps.

Re: budget rifle cases

Myself and Brandon use the Midway drag bag. For $50 it's hard to beat. I carry my bolt action and scoped Ar15 in the bag. The scoped Ar15 makes it a tight fit but it does work. With the external pockets I can get two pistols in there as well. Along with other misc. gear. If you get this bag buy some 550 cord and replace all the zipper strings with the 550 cord.

I don't drag mine around so it works well for me. I suspect that the majority of people don't actuall drag their bag as well.

VooDoo tactical 42" dragbag.
Comes with capacity for 2 rifles, 2 handguns, compartments for rangefinder, spotting scope, data log book, set up with rear back straps for carrying or dragging. [Most of us won't ever drag]
One hell of a bag with all the bells and whistles, sometimes caught on sale for around $100

The voodoo is very nice. Little more than i was wanting to spend. But i would gladly buy it if i had the cash. the midway bag (on sale) is little more in my price range. Thats probaly what i will go with

Check out Natchez, every once and a while they'll have a great deal on Eagle Industry bags. A few months back I picked up a soft-sided long rifle bag and a smaller bag for my carbine for $90.

Re: budget rifle cases

i got my drag bag from midway yesterday. IT is AWEsome for the 65 spent. great deal. I did not know it had backpack style carry straps. i was impresssed. money well spent. Now if they can figure out some way to compress a closet worth of gun stuff into one small range bag, i will be set. hahahaha.
