Here's a video review I found on the Bushnell Elite Tactical 1-6.5. With the optional mil based reticle and lighter weight than the Vortex 1-6, it's worth a look. I've found pricing ranging from $1100 to $1399.

Good advice but realistically unless you are real lucky to have a buddy with one, where can you do this? This review is just about as good as I have seen!

Looked through a Trijicon 1-4x yesterday at a match and was really impressed by the eye box at 1x and the quality of the optics and how bright the triangle was. Only held back by the lack of a hold off reticle but I may still go that route since the optics, eyebox, and brightness of the dot is more important to me than power and reticle.
