Rifle Scopes Bushnell XRS 2 Parallax

I’m looking to upgrade my LRHSi to the XRS 2 on my cross over 6.5CM. My only concern is the parallax setting only going down to 75 yards. The vast majority of my shots are 75 or greater but the occasional deer or coyote does jump out at 40-50 yards.

Maybe a dumb question, but has anyone found the XRS to be impacted at all for making a “hunting shot” at 50 yards or less on low mag levels?

I've farted around with mine at 6-8x or so with the parallax dialed down to 75, but never done a thorough check of parallax check of it. That said, I've never seen anything that would make me think you would have an issue using it on game at that distance, assuming you back off the magnification and dial parallax back to 75.

The vast majority of the time I sit with the optic at lowest mag and parallax setting.

Glad to help. Another option worth considering is the DMR2 Pro - Same glass as the XRS2, but parallax goes to 50 yards. It's also a little shorter and a little lighter at the expense of max magnification and no option for illumination.

Trust me, Get the Razor Gen 2. Its a much better buy at the same price. I have owned a bunch of LRHS/LRTS over the years and still have a couple. The XRS2 was unimpressive. Get the Razor. Better in every category you can think of. Glass, reticle, parralax, turrets, eyebox, warranty,ect.

I’ve done a ton of research on all the options in the $1500ish category. While I’m sure I would like all the other features of the razor or AMG over the XRS, I just can’t get past the very thin EBR7 reticle. I didn’t like it on the PST 2 I traded for the LRHS and that version is even a little thicker.

Not to start a brand war but what are your thoughts on the XRS vs Razor? Or any other comparable optics for that matter?

I'm probably in the minority, but the glass in the Razor line has really never been all that impressive to me. I'm sure it's something about the way their coatings are set up vs my eyeballs, but that's just how it is for me. Outside of that, I've just never liked the feel of their turrets, and especially the weight, but the way you can zero inside of .1 is kinda nice.
