I noticed that the ring portion of a butler creek flip up (either end) has a single numeric designation (e.g. 40), but the cap portion has multiple numeric designations (e.g. 39, 40, 43 and BLIZ 10). My assumption is that the caps fit multiple rings. I also have a set with a size 39 ring that has a cap with the same 39, 40, 43 designation as the one above...bolstering my assumption.
