I was able to use both my Mini AB and Sig Kilo 10k at the same time.I have a tactix 8 and would love to integrate a LRF and this device at the same time.
Is that possible, or I can only have one thing being updated?
From your tactix 8!? so it's just constantly updating the wind and whenever you lase, that's being updated too.I was able to use both my Mini AB and Sig Kilo 10k at the same time.
That's good to know, does the ab calypso have an azimuthal Compass in it to vector winds to AB devices? No, they stated DOF. Later they said they have a firmware update coming where the user will be able to choose between DOF or True North. but as of right now, it is DOF. it uses clock values.
There is no need for a compass guys. That's good to know, does the ab calypso have an azimuthal Compass in it to vector winds to AB devices?
Tactix 7, but I'm sure the 8 will have better capability. From your tactix 8!? so it's just constantly updating the wind and whenever you lase, that's being updated too.
It can't get much better than that (unless Fire 4000 gets this feature too)
I'm dying to know if it can take the recoil from a rifle for a rifle mounted setup
With the latest update to AB Quantum. That Depends. You can now switch between pointed North and pointed Target in the settings. This only works with the Calypso AB Mini paired to AB Quantum, Garmins, and Kestrels. So who's right??
Have you guys tried mounting it on a rifle? Like a Burris PEPR that has rails on top of rings. Put it on the rear rail front for wmlrfWith the latest update to AB Quantum. That Depends. I would not recommend doing this.Have you guys tried mounting it on a rifle? Like a Burris PEPR that has rails on top of rings. Put it on the rear rail front for wmlrf
That one is not compatible with the AB Ecosystem. You would need the green one.
Is this the one?
perfect. Glad I asked. Thanks! That one is not compatible with the AB Ecosystem. You would need the green one.
So does this functionality exist if a pair of Vectronix Vector X LRF binos are paired directly with a Calypso mini AB? Or do both devices need to be paired with AB Quantum for the pointed North/DOF option to be available? With the latest update to AB Quantum. That Depends. I’ve been playing with this thing for a long time. We have always pointed it towards the DOF. I see that yesterday I got an update on the AB app. I see this setting in the system settings. Haven’t tried it out yet but I will. Not even sure this applies to the AB mini.
I quick suggestion, do not even try to mount the AB mini onto your gun. The recoil will most likely screw it up. To the point that it will need to be sent in for a repair. Seen one get damaged just from a little bump. And I do mean a little bump. They are very very fragile. Best to transport them in a hard case from house to range or house to shoot. Once at a shoot or range do not let that thing get nocked around AT ALL.
I would definitely hang your pack from the center of your tripod for weight. If you’re thinking it could blow over. In all and all. I’m very happy with the AB mini. People need to honestly take a breath, realize this is a new addition to the shooting world. They didn’t have to jump in and try to offer everyone something that would possibly make it easier for the shooter. Yet they did. Are there issues and are they trying to fix those issues definitely. I’d rather wade through the issues to get a reliable option for a true wind reading than not have it at all. It’s so darn easy to use. People should remember the issues they had with the kestrel when they first got it. Darn thing didn’t even come with an owners manual. Yet you wouldn’t go to a shoot without it or some other ballistic solver. Some should give props to those that deserve it. Thank you to Calypso and Applied Ballistic’s for doing this and continuing the process to a better quality product.Gotcha, yeah I wasn't sure if it could handle recoils. Sounds like it can't even handle a gusty wind causing it to fall LOL
