Rifle Scopes Canted scope reticle

How much reticle cant is acceptable in most manufacturers scopes? I’ve got a pst gen 1 that I’ve been frustrated trying to get the reticle leveled. I ended up using a set of feeler gauges on the bottom of the housing to try to sate my level OCD, it still felt like it was out of level.

I set up a little plumb bob inside my house, and this is what I came up with. My iPhone level app (which I’m sure isn’t the most accurate) seems to think the reticle is canted about 8 degrees off the top of the turret.

Am doing anything wrong? I plan on calling vortex tomorrow, as I’m sure they’ll be able to take care of any issues that may be present.

None is acceptable. However it happens. Send it back and they’ll send you a new one. I wouldn’t want to have to live with that.
