Hi Guys

What equipment is needed to Cerakote parts.

I have used the traditional hot blueing process in the past but would like to experiment with Cerakote

Blasting equipment
Degreaser, degreaser, degreaser...
Oven to heat and cure
HVLP spray gun, airbush for details
Compressor with filter
sand paper for scuffing plastic parts
air gun.

I have the compressor and a decent blast cabinet and I also have a 36" Ultrasonic Cleaning Tank but I think I will need some thing more specific for the degreaseing.
I will also need to build an oven capable of taking a full length barreled action

Just acetone, then 90% iso alc is needed for cleaning after blasting.
For degreasing before blasting, use soapy water or more acetone.


If you dont want to bake, use C-series. Works pretty damn well

somewhere on rimfirecentral and here in the rimfire section someone has built one out of a toaster oven element and an insulated gun safe, if my memory serves me correctly
