Building a lightweight M700 hunting rifle in .260, short action, internal box mag...
I have a SAAMI spec reamer...but have sometimes heard that accuracy may be improved decreasing the leade angle to 1-1/2 degrees from 3.
Given feeding from an internal mag box on a short action, not sure if I can/should squeak out a little more freebore without overdoing it?

Should I just use the spec reamer (it's only cut a couple of chambers), or is it worth the expense to order another- and what changes would you make?

    Thanks in advance.

On a "hunting rifle?" I wouldn't bother. If it holds MOA inside 500 yards you should be good to go. Spend the money saved on shooting/hunting more.

    2¢.
