I have my OCW charges worked out for two 308 bullets: 175 SMK and 175 OTM. I have the typical Remington 700 with a freebore that stretches until tomorrow, Jammed COAL for the SMK is 2.945" and the OTM - 2.992".

I need to start working out best accuracy-based upon COAL. For safety, how much should I reduce the charge weight to begin this work-up? I realize that I probably won't be able to get a true jam, but I can get pretty close.

Thanks,

For those particular bullets I see no reason to jam at all. They are both made to "jump". I've literally never had any better results jamming. No reason too.. But since you ask , automatically add 7,000 psi to your pressure fully jammed.
