Ok, so I have always liked the AI scope mount. it is one piece, light weight, has built in cant, does not leave scope rings on your scope, and is cheap on the used market.

Drawback: no throw levers. Until now.......................................

I did this one tonight. Turned out well. Levers are tension adjustable

For the 4 AI scope mounts I have used (one 30mm, 3 34mm), they all leave ring marks until you lap them, that's why I stopped.

Well... and just like that.. the rain ends my parade...

I dont want this thread to turn into an AI ring mark debate, but I have used these mounds for over a decade from the dovetail AIs to what we have now. I dont know how much torque you are putting on the ring screws, but none of mine have ever left ring marks. It was one of the things i liked about them. Infact if anyone has every purchased one of the many scopes I have sold on this forum, it has almost 100% been in an AI mount, unless otherwise stated.

Sorry to hear your left marks on your scopes though..

Sorry...didnt mean to turn your thread into this. Just share my experience. I use Borka set, usually about 16-18 inch/lb, yeah it's on the low end, and still left ring marks at where the lower and upper half joins. What I noticed, is that if I drop scope into the lower half, it will stuck. Yes stuck because the fit is too tight. Happened to my Leupold, NF and Bushnell like the one you are demoing. I dont know what's wrong, I do think it's not supposed to be like that. That's why I bought couple more to see if it is just the unit, but all of them show same symptom...lower half too tight. So I ended up either selling them or lapping them.

Now let's get back to the thread...where did you get those levers, and screwcap/spring etc? cheap UTG taken off, or?

I agree they do tend to sink in and stick.

The levers i looked up through fastenall haha. Their smaller cam lever size 0 with the same metric thread was perfect. Works good when I mounted it but the levers do rotate as the cam is circular. I think I am going to drill the mount and insert a spring out of an ar15 kit to make it spring open for easier and faster release. Best part is that I can always return it to its original config. Nothing permanent.

I thought about using those levers on my Arisaka Harris Bipod adapter to make it Quick Release but ended up buying an American Defense QR mount.

Do you by chance have have the Exact part # from Fastenall?
I may add them to the Arisaka after all.

Great idea!
Thanks
