I need some help, I'm tired of waiting for my sig 716 dmr g2 to arrive. After a bit more research and thought I'm thinking about cancelling my order and putting the deposit towards a christensen arms mpr in 6.5 l. I realize they're very different rifles. I plan on shooting steel as far as I can. I've seen the horror stories about the 716 but have a plethora of sigs with few issues. TIA.

If shooting steel as far as you can is the goal, neither of these rifles are ideal for it.

You're giving up accuracy with a gas gun and as you stated, there have indeed been horror stories with the 716.

I own the MPR and its a great rifle, but I have it as a hunting rifle for its light weight, packability, and ergos. It doesn't sound like you care about weight so this rifle doesn't seem to be the best fit.

Maybe try the MPA PMR rifle? Or Defiance/Badrock southfork? Much better tool for shooting steel as far as possible.
