Cleaning a Badger FTE brake

I tried a search, even a google custom SH search and didn't get any specifics....

So, I have a Badger FTE that is getting carbon buildup in the gaps. Nice little stalactites and stalagmites growing. What's the best way to clean it? Soak in carb or brake cleaner. Related Q: will soaking in carb or brake cleaner hurt the finish?

If it bothers you, Slip 2000 choke tube cleaner is AWESOME at eating carbon off. It also smells like oranges which isn't too bad either.

Take the brake off and spray the shit out of it with brake cleaner, or better yet, let it soak in some Hoppe's.

If you take it off and spray it down every time you clean your barrel you wont get that carbon build up as much.

Ultra sonic cleaning works good for brakes.
