I’m using boretech eliminator and like it so far, but using it with Dewey rods that have brass jags gives false positives for copper fouling. Any recommendations for cleaning rods/jags that will prevent false positives? I’ve looked at the boretech rods, but they are to long at 36” (rather them be a little shorter), and I like the jags that you wrap the flannel patches around instead of poking through.

I'd recommend the Boretech Proof Positive rods. The brass end of the Dewey rods can also give a false positive on the patch. If you haven't found the resources section, there is a great write up about bore cleaning. Most of us have a tendency to go too far and too often. Check it out!
