Climate Change Fails

It's all a money scam!
Kilauea started spewing again this week.
I'm all for being a good steward of our natural resources, the things we can actually control like pollution and littering (my pet peeves)
Nothing will ever convince me humanity has any meaningful control over global temperatures. Al Gore figured he could get rich pushing that crap, and I feel like that was the actual start of "wokeism".

I agree with your take on all except I believe that ‘wokeism’ is just a part of the socialist agenda. Not to sound like some extremism or anything, but the whole woke movement was just another wedge to drive people to fighting each other while the power mongers made huge profits and gained more power.

But honestly, what do I know? I’m just a simple man who recognizes the manipulations and machinations of power and greed. 🤷🏻‍♂️

P.S. money = power and greed drives them both.

I whole heartedly agree, but it just seemed to coincide with Gore's agenda, even though it wasn't named as such back then...

The most powerful Hurricane to ever hit the US was the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935

The Second most powerful Hurricane to ever hit the US was Camille in 1969 During what was feared to be the start of a little Ice Age.

Now, any little puff of wind out of the south, is supposedly caused by Man Made Climate Change. And we are told that the only way to save ourselves is to a.) kill all cattle, b.) all start driving electric cars; c.) give up our gas stoves; d.) give up air conditioners e.) give up ceiling fans f.) stop taking vacations using the airlines, and finally g.) quit calling each other men and women.

Kind a makes you wonder where the tax money is going to come from to continue to support our vaunted leaders to live the life of luxury they have come to expect us to support.

It was said that thousands were saved by a last minute Hurricane Hunter that showed Camille was an extremely powerful storm, when the current thinking was that a small hurricane was a “weak” hurricane.

Apparently around 1600 scientists and Nobel Laureates signed a petition stating that there is no “climate emergency”. Bet we hear nothing of that in the mainstream media.

A few years back Edward Teller also signed a petition stating that anthropogenic global warming was complete bullshit.

Climate change is real. Just a couple weeks ago, we were having temperatures in the middle 100’s. This week temperatures are struggling to get to 90. That’s change right?

In seriousness, its probably a good idea to cut down on carbon emissions. If folks will notice, long before Joe Biden’s minions got to meddling with this nation, we had made really good progress in this regard.

But who the hell wants to move back to the Stone Age? What these morons are demanding, life in the 1950’s is too advanced for them. Heck, we had gas stoves, and gas heaters, and our outboards on the bayou burned a mixture of gasoline and oil and smoked pretty good.

Speaking of climate change. Does anyone here remember Hurricane Audrey. Scared the living shit out of this, then 7 year old. The one turtle I kept as a pet, also died that day and I buried him near the bank of the bayou. Cute little buggard. Ate Lettuce and tadpoles. Kind of funny really. I would catch the tadpoles and thought they would be neat to keep around. I would put them in the bowel where I kept my turtle, but in a day or two, they would be all gone. So, I repeated the process with the same result. (We had plenty of tadpoles on the bayou). Oh, we were discussing climate change.

Hurricane Audrey. Killed well over 300 people in the sparsely populated area of Cameron, Louisiana. Eye, passed right over our home, but by that time, except for rain and the usual, Louisiana thunderstorm wind, she wasn’t much. But reports, earlier in the day, of all the deaths, simple scared the fire out of me and I kept begging my father to put us all in the car and bug out.

Why Audrey? A category 4 hurricane, that literally came out of no where (the Gulf of Mexico) at a time of the year when major hurricanes simply did not exist. The year, 1957.

Anyone remember Hurricane Camille? Second strongest storm to ever hit the continental United States. Year, 1969. No one seemed to be wondering or worrying about “man-made” climate change. She was one mean Bitch! Thousands were saved by a last minute Hurricane Hunter flight that showed her to be a Category 5 storm. At the time, small hurricanes were always thought to be weak hurricanes. Camille sure changed that idea. Oh, did I mention 1969. The talk at the time was that we might be entering a new ice age. 25 foot storm surge with 50 foot waves on top, wind gusts over 200 mph. Could have, should have been the storm of the century, but wait

Now I know that no one on this forum remembers the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. Killed something neighbor hood of a thousand or so veterans who were working in the upper keys. Most powerful hurricane to ever hit the United States. 1935. True, we had Michael in 2018 and he was tough. But 1935, 1957, 1969?

Now, everytime a wind over 35mm blows up in the Atlantic, we all have to give up, gas stoves, air conditioners, ceiling fans, clothes dryers, IC powered vehicles, Coal and Gas fired (and nuclear) power plants, kill cows, eat bugs and electrify the tanks, trucks and aircraft that our military use in order to save the world. (While much of the rest of the world does what it pleases)

Climate change? Yep, its real, it really is. Its been changing back and forth for several billion years. Yep, I agree, going to more climate friendly power sources such as nuclear power plants and working to find alternate fuel sources is a good thing. But destroy the nation, force its citizens to go back to the 19th century or earlier while people like al gore and traitor john kerry continue to live in the lap of luxury…Let them move into a cave and become hunter gatherers, using sticks and spears and woven baskets. Afterall, can’t have clay pots, it takes fire to have fired clay pots and common fire is a mixture of carbon and oxygen…can’t be adding that evil CO2 to the atmosphere now can we?????

Ships beached by Camille.

The Richelieu Apartment building. Its my understanding that they have left the foundation of this building all these years as a memory of the destruction.

Climate change. Yep, in August of 1969, the climate around Bay St. Louis, Mississippi sure changed.
