Hi Guys ,

Any one know if the new series Colt HBAR 6601 model rifle uses the normal hinge pins, or do they still use the stupid offset front hinge pin they used 20 yrs ago .

I want to drop a Bushmaster upper on to the HBAR lower /

Cheers Chris

Re: Colt HBAR , pin spacing ?

It depends when it was made. My 6601 is an early slabside version with the large diameter pin that has a large screw head on both sides. Later ones had .250" diameter pins that had the mag release fence which will accept a standard GI upper. These had a pivot pin that looked like a standard GI pivot pin on the right side but on the left they had a screw head that was just a little larger so the pin would not fall out. Actually the offset pin you mention was only used on the large diameter pins to accept the GI uppers, this was always an aftermarket thing. I'm not sure what they are currently using. Hope this helps.
