As an optimist, sometimes to a fault, I once tried to convert Leftists over to the great world of manhood by trying to get them interested in shooting and the 2nd A.

After the 2016 victory and realizing half the people I thought were friends turned out to be CNN watching, America hating commie scum, I wish I hadn't tried to make them into self respecting human beings.

If a few of your NG guests 'had to think about it', before they could finally decide, I would have interjected 'You answered my question' and the ambient temperature would have suddenly become noticeably more chilly.

I've lived long enough to learn that the person who is quiet and nods their head in agreement with anything you say is not necessarily your friend. They can be treacherous, deceiving, lying and backstabbing morons.

Most people are stinking turds. Some of them are turds with perfume. You find out who your real friends are when things are not going good for you. They are the ones that step into help.

I won't go into details but a while back I was helping a gentleman with a really serious problem. I wasn't the only one helping.

Now deep down, he's a real conservative. He was raised in a socialist country and hated it. His wife was somewhat liberal.

He was talking with me about his situation. He said that because of everything that happened to him and his family, his wife did a complete 180 degree turn.

He said that his situation was a real eye-opener for her. To a certain extent, he was also surprised at some people. He told me that the only people that came to help him were Republicans. He lived in an all Democrat infested neighborhood. NONE, absolutely NONE of the Democrats lifted a finger to help him.

Because of that, his wife could never vote for a Democrat.

My story contradicts my initial statements a little. The fact that my friend's wife did a 180 degree turn is the exception rather than the rule.

At the time that I was helping him, I didn't know his wife. Likewise with the other folks that were helping. Her about face was a very rare instance but the situation for them was very dire.

Think about the gun confiscation during hurricane Katrina. I wonder just how many "good" neighbors turned their other neighbors in for owning guns.

The people that were confiscating those firearms were local police, sheriff deputies and national guard. Some of those same gun confiscators could have lived next door to the friends they stole the guns from.

As a paper boy in the 70’s, I had an unlimited supply of rubber bands. A school boys dream.

I shot so many rubber bands, the skin on the top of my arm would turn red. Soon I leaned to point shoot with deadly precession.

Not a fly in the house was safe.

I skill I’ve retained to this day.

I offered a neighbor the use of my shooting range once. I thought he was cool and he knew I had some nice toys. The guy shows up with a group of people I had never met including some younger relatives of his. I just let them shoot what they brought and didn't bring out anything of mine. Afterwards, the future offer of use of the shooting range was politely rescinded. Some people just don't get it.
