Contour-Rem Varmint or Med Palma

That's the quandry I have.
I'm getting the Bartlein straight 1.250 6.5 blank I just received off the hide PX contoured by them (my 7-08 is going to become a 6.5CM).
I'm going 28" finished (spare me the accolades of the short barrels-when I want handy 6.5Cm, that's what the POF is for), adn was curious if there was much difference between a lengthened Rem Varmint contour and a Med Palma? I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Med Palma, but the stock's inlet is a little curvier and the Rem Varmint may fit with less work-any drawbacks to the Rem Varmint?
If I go Rem contour, I'm going to add an inch to the shank end and an inch to the muzzle end from the regular 26" finish.

I say that either one will do just fine no matter what. The contours are basically the same, just a little different in certain areas.

The rem contour I think would be perfect for a 6.5, and save you a little time on the barrel channel.

I like the palma countour also, bought a standard palma in 6.5 because it was close to the rem contour and would give me a close fit as with the rem varmint profile.

I would go with the Remington Contour. More stocks, less sanding.

If you're going to add an inch to the shank end, then not much difference between the two.

Using Pac-Nor's barrel weight calculator:

Light Palma 5.34 lbs
Medium Palma 5.50 lbs
Heavy Palma 5.94 lbs
Rem Varminter/Sendero 5.20 lbs

Adding an inch to the Rem shank will up it's a weight, making the choice between it and Med Palma a pick-it....But the Light Palma looks pretty good as well.

Decided to go Med Palma to finish at 28", with the chamber end bumped forward 1.00"
Blank's on its way to Bartlein as of this morning!

good choice, 264win and i created a great contour similar to med. palma. ours is 4" straight 1.250 then 9" of taper down to .9 from there it tapers down to .8 at the muzzle at 26". beefy were you need it light were you don't
