none of your business
Hi guys,

I'm putting this in the bolt action rifles forum solely for others to look at the camo.

I just had to show off this excellent job! I'm so pleased with how it turned out! It gave me good luck too because I won the AZ state Field target air rifle champion title. Yahoo...

I had won a gift certificate at the 2010 Norcal match for a Duracoat camo job from Tucker Bloxham of High Desert Tactical firearms refinishing from Pocatello ID,Also Captain Moroni here on the Hide. The main color is a custom mix of his that he has on his own rifle. There are 7 colors all together. He did a superb job and got the gun done in a couple weeks time. It's the tacticoolest USFT on the planet,LOL

The USFT is a PCP = (charge it up with compressed air) air rifle, designed specifically for the game,"Field Target Air rifle". Mac1 airguns out of California sells them. This one will put five shots into 1/2" or less at 50Y no problem.Dead nuts reliable too! The scope is a Leupold 45X taget scope.

Re: COOL CAMO Extreme digital USFT!

That's a pretty neat looking gun.. I like the Camo Pattern as well..

How far can your gun shoot and still be accurate??

Re: COOL CAMO Extreme digital USFT!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I've shot this USFT out to 150Y at a bell target that was 3" by 4".It was a very calm evening so I hardly missed. At 100Y I can hit the airgun sized ram silhouettes nearly every time.Reading the wind with a 20ftlb air rifle at 100Y is critical.

That hole set-up is pretty damn neat. Not looked into air rifles much but that one is the coolest tha I've seen. That 45x power scope isn't overkill for 150yds? Or do air rifles require it to be that acccurate?

For Field Target air rifle it's an advantage to have as high magnification as one can tolerate because the higher the mag the better the scope ranges distance accurately. We determine the distance to the target by using the parallax adjustment. That's why I have that big Coma thing hanging off my side focus. With it I can distinguish down to the yard out to 55Y then dial the appropriate dope accordingly.

I hardly shoot past 55Y with this rifle.

To answer your question as to the accuracy required for Field target. All our steel knock over targets are designed to lock up and not fall "a miss" if a pellet touches the sides of the kill zone on the target face.We call this "a split".The pellet must make a clean pass through the hole and strike the paddle behind the target face to make the target fall "a hit".So a kill zone is therefor reduced by the width of the pellet from the get go.

typically we shoot a 1/4" kill zone from 10Y-14Y
3/8" from 10-20Y
1/2" from 15-25Y
5/8" from 20-35Y
3/4" from 25-45Y
1" from 45-55Y
1 1/8 from 50-55Y

Past 25Y wind becomes a major consideration.

Here's a pic of a Field Target we use.Note the hole in the face "kill zone" and the paddle behind.

In affect it's like having a giant 9" wheel attached the side focus which causes more space between the marked yardages taped to the top of the big Coma.I use the split between my scope ring halves as the pointer for the yardages.More space means less error in ranging. The kill zones are so small one needs to know the range within a couple yards at the longer distances to get reliable hits. For instance from 10 to 11 yards there is 10 clicks difference because of the mechanical offset. From 45 to 55 yards there is 10 clicks drop.Enough to cause lots of missing.

If you go to the match report link up top there's lots a pics of different rifles with the big wheels attached to the scopes.
