Cut 700P 300WM down to 22"

Considering cutting down my 700p 300WM to 22". Why you may ask? I like the balance of 20" 308. Will mainly use the 300 for Elk/Mule deer hunting.

Anyone cut down their 300WM to 22"? Or have a 22" 300. How do you like it?

Kept mine at 26 might go 24 on a rebuild.

Just image a 16.5" 300WM, it would spit fire, very cool. Not much for anything else, but it would be cool to see.

Don't forget the extra hearing protection also. May need that too and flame retardant materials.

I just read the article from Mike at tac ops. I only shoot the Federal 190's, and would like to go to a can on mine. Losing the 4 inches might make it more manageable. Let me know if you go to 22 inches and how it shoots.

I read that same article from Tac ops. I intend on doing it.

I've read a few post where guys here have gone to 22", was hoping one of them would chime in.

Other than the muzzle blast, I really don't see a problem. I live and hunt at 10,000ft, not to worried about velocity loss.
