Now Beretta held importation of Tikka T3 in 6.5x55 before I jumped on the wagon, the reasonably price 6.5x55 option seems to be CZ. I would like to get a shooter in the new 6.5/260 class but I do not reload, so 6.5x55 would be my top choice

Does anyone have a CZ in this caliber and how does it shoot? I love CZ75 and had several WWII CZ mausers in the past. How's their modern day rifle? Any precision stock option for it? I cdon't know if I can live with that chunky wood "hunter's" hump on its buttstock

Thanks!

My CZ550 American shoots very well.
The trigger is quite good for a factory rifle.
You will likely need to bed it as mine was sloppily installed in the stock with a couple daubs of glue where the small recoil lug sits in its mortise.
The barrel profile is not appropriate for long strings of accurate, long range shooting.

I believe Ruger makes one as well. Savage may too. However it's hard to beat a CZ. Though I prefer the 527 over the 550. As for the stock CZ offers tactical stocks for the 550 one even comes with an H&S.

My CZ550 American in 6.5x55 is a 1.5 MOA rifle @ 300 yds. I'd really recommend one if that's what you're looking for.

The only gripe I have with it, is the inside finish may not be what I want it to. The bolt used to hang up just so ever little bit while cycling it. It's worn in now. Cycles great, shoots great.
