Saw this movie the other day. It all takes place in Southern California/Los Angeles, my old stomping grounds and some of the cinematography was so good, I forgot I was in Idaho at one point in time and thought I was back in LA.
The movie overall was pretty good. I had to suspend some belief though when it came to the "cops being bad in the name of doing good" though. When there was action, it was pretty good and somewhat accurate (though there was one point where I scratched my head wondering why someone would sling-shot their pistol off the sole of their shoe, when the slide was locked back.. just use the slide release lever, duh..)
Overall, I would give the movie one and a half thumbs up, and would see it again. I dont know if I would go as far as buying the blu-ray when it comes out, but I would watch it on Netflix in a heartbeat.
