Re: DHS Raids Gun Collector

i don't know the warrant laws and what not, but don't they have to have a reason, and tell you the reason?

the article says the guy was in trouble before and he might have been selling guns illegally.

Re: DHS Raids Gun Collector

he was a bad guy fellas, what the fuck are we supposed to do?

quote below from the article:

While having been watched for years and no charges filed as they seized Adam’s firearms, Federal investigators are saying that they are investigating him for gun smuggling, tax evasion, violating importation laws.
KRQE reports,
Court documents reveal federal agents were watching Adams for years and that some documentation was missing “to determine to whom Adams [was] selling or exporting his firearms.”
The guns were also not properly marked possibly to make the guns more valuable and to avoid paying high import taxes, investigators alleged.
However, a bigger concern is that no markings on the guns and missing documents mean the guns are not traceable by law enforcement.

I suppose that we'll see a statement of charges once we get away from the fog of the controversy.

Seems to be the new SOP these days ...

Re: DHS Raids Gun Collector

Hmmm,
Fuds state they were watching for years, but documents to substantiate their case were missing? This is how they are going to deal with those of you who have several rifles and pistols...wait, what IS the exact number they need? 5, 10, 17, 20?
Is it easy for the government to make up a crime and make someone look guilty? What? No? HAHAHA, bullshit!
Collector vs Smuggler. Two very different activities and the Collector is usually VERY WELL SUBSTANTIALLY DOCUMENTED and the Smuggler not

Re: DHS Raids Gun Collector

I can't imagine what they will tell YOU about ME. This is nothing new. We have seen it before. Matter of fact we have seen it before in this country. Which is why I find it so disturbing that more people aren't talking about this.
Our own Government, knowingly and willfully, smuggled a couple THOUSAND guns into Mexico and tried to blame it on gun stores and gun owners in the US. As far as I know THAT IS A FACT. That investigation has been stonewalled and shut down. Nothing will ever come of it, nor will the people involved be held accountable.

One of these fine old days some people are gonna have to decide what side they are on. Our attention span is horrible in this country. Remember that film maker they locked up last year. He was a bad guy too, parole violation for bad checks. "Book him Danno."

Re: DHS Raids Gun Collector

As a matter of fact! The fact that they were watching him for years is even MORE disturbing. Maybe it has something to do with how you are looking at the situation. They waited till NOW to raid him after alllll theeeeese years. Probably just a cooincidence. I see a litmus test in the making.

Re: DHS Raids Gun Collector

I'm only wondering,,,,, this gentleman had a collection of what, 1,500 firearms?

How would you feel, if all the sudden YOUR collection were apprehended? And I don't know about ya'll, but I myself have seen the Head of the Firearms division here literally throw an armful of rifles/shotguns into the trunk of a car.

In other words, they AIN'T CAREFUL with stuff that ain't theirs. Who can argue this?

Now back to the original discussion, whilst you ponder these thoughts.

Re: DHS Raids Gun Collector

I am a little lost ??? . say's he is 'current' License FFL & dealer ? . while also private collector .

Someone PLEASE someone tell me how you Get an FFL & Keep current Lic. FFL . While Buying & selling for years ,
With same time also getting scheduled inspections from BATF like everyone else holding FFL . While also being under investigation for years by DHS of BATF . While also under investigation in Canada for firearms infractions . Then NO charges filed .
.

Re: DHS Raids Gun Collector

I'm not sure why it happened but I doubt we'll ever know the real story. I never thought we would hear them admit that the AR15 was in Lanza's car the whole time either though. How in the hell were no charges filed? I wonder if he will get his collection back since they apparently can't prove anything. Or... Maybe he really was a bad guy and rolled on some bigger heads so no charges were filed. Witness protection/informant kind of deal?..
