When I saw there I thought we would all jump on them fast, but I have really not heard as much as expected. Mine still has not been shipped due to the cold weather i was told

I would like to see some of these on rifles if there are any pics out there I did see the nice green one ( great job on that one)

I figure with a lilja barrel and a kidd trigger, it would make a very fun little 10/22.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

Yeah, I ordered one when they first released them and waited a couple weeks for it to ship. When it got here the inletting was totally wrong and the mags would not fit. I sent it back and they were going to re-run it and turn it back around to me. Then, nothing for over a month. I kept e-mailing and they would respond but still no tracking number or confirmation. Just promises. I ordered it in August and finally got it mid November. It's nice but not what I expected for the price. I'll try to get some pics up later.

Interesting- I'm looking hard at these, and was kinda planning on ordering one soon. I think I'll hold off and see what happens with y'all first.

I'd like to know as well. I'm thinking about cancelling my order. How do u fk up inletting if its for a Ruger 10/22

Richards fked their inletting up on one my orders. I had no idea since I sold the rifle before the stock got here, and sold the stock to a member here until he informed me.

If you guys are talking about the Rhineland Arms Leopard stock let me know. I ordered a few of these some time back (4 or 5 months ago) for the guys in the shop here. There may be one available. I will check. Pretty sure they were all w/o the ultra grip option.
They are pretty nice stocks. Will dig for some photo's. They painted the stocks they used in our web finishes. Just almost certain that we have one just as received still. Will go ask.

Mostly the attention to detail. The finish of the wood could be a bit better. If it were me, I would have sanded it down a bit smoother or maybe a fine sand after the finish and then another coat. The low points in the stock didn't get sanded like the rest of it. It is noticeably rougher behind the receiver. The most disappointing things are the adjustable cheek piece and butt. The butt is not stable when adjusted for length. Also, the way the buttplate fits the stock and the lack of finishing behind the butt annoys me. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet due to weather and family stuff but the distance from the grip to the trigger is way too small. Maybe I'll get used to it after shooting but it is in no way similar to any of my other rifles.

Let's keep in mind that these are hand made. There's going to be small variation due to wood or time of day (beer-thirty). The idea behind it is good and I like the way it looks. I just would have liked a bit more attention to detail for that price. Or maybe my expectations were too high. Any one else care to comment so I do seem like such a dick?...

I do like the stock - just wanted to answer some comments.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

man im not much for 10-22s but that one looks BA.bout how much would a stock like that cost and can you get it in polymer? still love my 597 -the glittery stock lol.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

Worst thing about the stock is the cheekpiece makes the ring/base combo need to be pretty high...I should be using High rings but they make the scope look so goofy.

The buttplate adjustment is weak if extended....I am going to try drilling out the two holes in the stock and fitting aluminum tubing in them as bushings to get it to be more rigid when extended.

The front bipod mount will take some designing to keep the bipod from swiveling....probably just contour the forend semi beavertail like HS stocks.

Other than that I like the fit prone....the lack of a rear sling stud is a missing feature also...midway has a sling stud kit for $3 with a screw in for the rear and a 10-32 for the front but the 10-32 needs to be shortened to work.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

We got to figure out a ring size for these stocks. My badger US M40A3s are too low at .886" Seekins medim hig is .92 or high at .97.

I thought about going med-high and if thats not enough, Ill take some material off the bottom part of the cheek rest.

The Leopards cheeck rest is a little bit higher then an AI cheek rest I compared the two.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

A couple of questions for you guys.
1. How is the balance of the stock with a bull barrel ? It looks like it would be a well balanced rifle with the added thickness at the butt.
2.Is there room to take some wood off at the cheek without affecting the thumb hole or cheek screws so that the ring size isn't such an issue? I've thought about buying one without finish on it and doing a little tweeking.
3.Do you think a Kid trigger and receiver will work in it ? Looking at building from the ground up using Kid parts.
4.Would you buy it again or not ? Now that you have it and have shot it is it what you thought it would be ?
Thanks !

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

My barrel is carbon fiber so can't advise on the balance.

I haven't measured the stock to see how much I can remove for the cheekpiece yet.

I asked Kidd and they said it should.....but so you know I looked at going to the Kidd barreled action that was threaded for barrel and reciever...started at $1000....totally destroy's the purpouse of a trainer rifle.

I would buy it again, expect to improve the adjustable butt mounting....it is loose if extenede at all. But the stock is very good ergonomics to me.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

1. I've got a 20 inch bull barrel in mine and it is definitely barrel heavy. It seemed to balance better in my Bell and Carlson tactical. But that's to be expected. The Leopard stock is fairly light. A shorter barrel or one with flutes would make it much more balanced. I put in my other receiver which has a Whistle Pig fluted and it became slightly butt heavy - super light though. Amazing how much weight the bull barrel adds.

2. You could probably take off a little bit of wood but it would mess up the lines of the stock. If you didn't care about that then chop away. I'm probably going to take my 50mm scope and throw it on to see if I get a little more height without having a huge gap between the bell and the barrel. My pics show a 44mm bell.

3. The Kidd trigger and receiver will work with the stock.

4. I'm not sure if I would buy it again. If they addressed some issues, then yes. But if the same problems exist, then no. My personal problems are the first badly inletted stock, the wait time/customer service (small company though so a mild wait time is to be expected), loose buttstock, and the finger to trigger distance too small. I love the way the stock looks and believe it to be pretty innovative when it comes to customizing a 10/22. It's up to you to decide if it's worth the price.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

Thanks for updates !

In reading so far I'm surprised that it's light lol. My first impressions from looking at the pictures we're that it's pretty heavy. The 10/22 with a bull barrel in a Hogue stock while light is really barrel heavy to me, So I thought this stock would help balance it out.

Glad to know that the Kid products will fit, They are expensive but buy once and you save a lot more on upgrading down the road.

As for the looks. It is a fantastic looking stock for a 10/22 !

The last question is really to just get a feel from all of you, I've bought things in the past that I probably wouldn't buy again knowing how it performed after the purchase.

Appreciate all the photo's

Appreciate the offer Alan. I think I'm committed to getting one, now its the daily grind of saving for the whole package

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

Today I put my Kidd trigger, barrel, and other parts in with no issues. Everything fit nicely. Infact the kidd extended mag release would work fine, I went with the medium lever and the stock just covers it up. Even with the kidd 20" heavy barrel it feels nice and balance and really not too heavy to me, but then I got this for more of a bench 10/22 to match my AW. still not as good as the 40x in an AICs, but also not near as expensive either.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

Excellent ! Great to hear everything fits well. I was thinking about the extended mag release too.
Would love to see some pic's and let us know how it shoots.

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

Simple thought but if you wanted more weight just drill some out with a $4 spade bit and find a slug of round steel and shove it under the butt pad.

The line of the cheek piece would be not really noticeable.....it would mainly be the issue of hitting the upper hole for the butt pad shaft.

You can't really take more than 1/4" (if that) without hitting the upper shaft hole!!!

Re: Did anyone else buy a Leopard 10/22 stock

I know Im bringing back an old post but didnt really want to start a new one just for a few opinions. I have had one of these stocks since they came out. I too think the trigger placement is to close to the grip. Nothing you can do about that though. Im more curious about what rear bags you guys are using. I have a short Harris bipod on the front and a protector rear back. I have let some sand out but its still way to tall for 50-100yd shooting. I have put a 2x4 under my bipod to make it work but that just makes it less stable. Any ideas what the best fit would be?
