I intended to mask the breech face of my 1911 prior to duracoat. I say "intended" because about 3/4 of the way into paint I realized I forgot and it is now FDE. I did remember to mask the feed ramp. Soooooo, how bad did I screw up? Any advice to fix it? 600 grit? Dremel?

Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Keep the dremel away from the breech face, please. Once it's set, but not yet cured, just scrape it off. Or you can wrap some 320 grit on a flat faced file and gently sand it off. 600 will gunk up too quickly with duracoat.

Generally speaking, DuraCoat will go on a bit thicker than Cerakote; of course, it depends on the applicator.

If the gun still headspaces ok, I would say don't worry about it. If the function has been affected, see my post above.
