Did Steiner just quietly build the MPO we have all been asking for? H6xi

Are there any one piece mount restrictions for this guy? Went to put it on my MK12 with 1" rings thinking i'd be fine coming from a 1.3" C1 max with the mark 5 and the objective was hitting the rail. So i thought well I'll just grab another C1 max. Badger doesn't make it in 30mm and there is such a small space between the erector and objective bell that I'm worried a 3 hole ring cape or something thick like a Griffin GPM is going to be too big.

Why not use something like this? https://yhm.net/accessories/rails-mounts/scope-riser/ They're cheaper elsewhere but I recommend replacing the screws with good old socket cap screws.

Agree, but my benchmark is the nxs 2.5-10x42.
Same. I’ve got a 2.5-10x42 nxs I’d never sell and they have been my go to for a lot of years. I will say that recently I got a mk5 2-10 cmr. As far as the features and use goes I’d put it ahead of the nxs. I haven’t used the Steiner but this mk5 2-10 with the cmr reticle is really awesome and the best I’ve used.

I was thoroughly impressed with the Steiner this past weekend. Took it out to 600 with the mk12 it’s a great looking optic. The reticle is pretty nice if a little on the thin side. Illumination was bright enough for a hot day in northern Louisiana. Had they had some sort of illuminated circle on the center dot it would be perfect

I have one of these now on loan from a friend (who may or may not have been influenced by my curiosity in this optic) for a few months while his rig is being built.
I must say that after a few months of shooting with the ZCO 2-10x30, the Steiner isn't a bad little optic.
If I had to put a number to it, it's probably 75% of the optic as the ZCO but at 40% of the price.
I certainly would take it over a 2.5-10x42 NXS NF any day of the week that was my favorite SPR optic back in the day

While the HTR reticle in the ZCO continues to impress me, I'm finding the reticle a little less friendly in terms of quick holds due to the small numerals at 12x. With the horizontal stadia extending further out, I wish they had either included the odd numbers as well or made the evens bigger if they were going to skip the odds. I'm curious to see how my feelings develop as time goes on with this on a small-frame DMR style gun. I can say I'm already considering getting one to put on a .22lr rig for use around the homestead.

I'm normally a "spare no expense" kinda guy, but this a neat little optic for the money.
