Cincinnati police chief says out of 100 people watching and recording violent attack, only 1 called 911

Well at least they stopped to video:

Video is in the link, I can't find a version without the talking heads "Explaining" everything to us.

What got me was Everyone filmed it, no one called 911 or tried to stop.

I know the pit is divided on "Would you intervene or walk away" I get both--but to stop and film? Yeah DOOOOOOOMED we are.

It only takes one, you don’t need 100 calls for one incident

The more evidence being recorded, the better.
No that’s a dumb take. It’s the police who go to the scene that need to get the 100 peoples account of the story, not 911. most claims by witnesses are bullshit anyway and not at all accurate. If there’s pertinent info on the 911 call they will use it, but 911 dispatch is constantly getting calls they don’t need an additional 100 people calling for one incident taking up dispatchers time they could be using to answer other non-related emergency calls. While a room full of people answer backed up calls and are getting info just to say “we already know” someone else potentially isn’t getting life saving help sent out that they need.

When you learn about scene management you are taught to tell one specific person to call 911 if it’s needed, not only because you can verify it was done easily but you don’t need 100 people calling blocking lines.

A person doesn't get their ass stomped for no reason. These are just the lowest segments of society doing what they do best. All of them!

Getting involved in this kind of stuff is a choice. I didn't see any victims, so why would anyone dial 911.

It's very rare to see a person walking down the street and get stomped for no reason other than being alive. It can happen, but I doubt this is one of them.

One strong man with a CCW, and this never would have ended the way it did.........

I was taught the only way to 99% not get hemmed up following the use of a CCW firearm was to only use it to protect yourself or somebody you had a close relationship with i.e. your immediate family or friends.

Defending a stranger getting their ass whipped, in the middle of the night, for some unknown reason to you is probably a good way to get locked up and have expensive legal bills. Doing it in a less than conservative city is a sure way to get arrested. You may not know who the aggressor was. Could have been the people on the ground getting an ass whipping that started it, cause lord knows weve seen enough video's of hot heads talking shit to people and then proceed to get their ass whipped because they deserved it. You walk up on said ass whipping and you dont know how it started, who started it, etc...

It would take a lot for me to defend with deadly force another adult that I didnt know.

Being a strong man or not has nothing to do with using your brain in a situation like that.

Understand this argument and generally try and follow it.

My beef is the assholes who whip out there phone and start cheering. Let's be honest people are not "being eyewitness". They are trying to cap a viral video and get 15 mins of fame.

Oh for sure. Im probably going to un-ass the area if I see a mob beating up on somebody or somebodies...especially if its a bunch of blacks beating a few whites... cause im pretty fucking white and I might be next... Im not going to stand around and watch... however on a Saturday night at bar close I may be in the mood to see a show, but if thats the case I dont have a gun on me anyway.

Should have called 5.56.
They were almost there...just missing the leading 1.

My primary carry is a 22LR Beretta 21A. Front pocket, no holster, spare mag.
Once in a while It's the 3032 Tomcat. Front pocket, no holster, spare mag
When I go to a big town, I add a ParaOrdnance P12-45. Mexican style and a spare mag.
Even so, I'm more likely to retreat to the vehicle quickly than attempt to intervene. Just don't try to stop me...
