Hey there !

Just one short question : Am about to duracoat my Tikka lite and wonder wether or not i should only sandblast the barell and degrease the receiver because the receiver is already parkerized or if i should also sandblast the receiver ?

For degreasing the parkerized surface, does it suffice to spray some (or a lot) degreaser on it or does it need more preperation ?

Re: Duracoat Tikka ONE Question

I'd blast the whole thing, but I'm not a certified Duracoat applicator either. I've done a few guns and always sand blast them. So far it's worked out well.

Re: Duracoat Tikka ONE Question

I believe the duracoat instructions say that if it is already parkerized that you should degrease and shoot. As far as your second question. Degrease as normal which is to say soak the crap out of it a couple times. Recievers as a norm. have a lot of nooks and crannys, screw holes and such that oil can seap into. If you have the opertunity to heat the barreled action to 250 or so you can see what I am talking about the "hidden" oil will make itself evident at those temps.
