Hide,

I am shopping for a new bipod and am trying to make a decision between the Ckye Pod and an Elite Iron. From a lot of what I've done I don't shoot prone in matches very often. The last match I took an Atlas and Ckye pod (Now sold) and ended up using the Atlas for bipod stages. I like the adjustability of the Ckye but really like the stability of the elite iron. And to be honest the elite iron is something different.

Anything I am missing or any input is appreciated.

The two are very very different.
Ckye is a great “gamer” bipod.
The Elite myself I would not want for a match too big. Very stable as you state. It’s a great bipod when you are in place, but, moving with it in a match I don’t think that would work well. I’m sure someone has and loves it.

I agree with your assessment of the ckye pod. Honestly my biggest gripe about it was that it reached a point where it was too many options that were never used, not to mention the lack of downward locking legs made me curse it every time I pulled it out of a bag. While the elite iron has it's strong points and appears super stable the main negative I can think of is that it cannot be used on an ARCA rail. The other option to all this is just buy another CAL2 and put the remaining money into ammo.

I don’t have a Ckye pod, but I do have the Elite iron bipod on a couple of my rifles. They are the most stable bipod I have owned yet. The rotation ring is pretty clever.

With that said they aren’t compact. I can see the legs being a bit cumbersome in a match setting. I use mine strictly for range and hunting use.

My biggest gripe is the legs are similar to Ckye in that there is no downward lock on the legs. I’ve lost count how many times the legs deployed unintentionally. For example, inserting my rifle into it’s soft case will usually cause the legs to deploy.
