I heard that 2 LEOs did an elk hunt in Boulder recently.
Nice bull and no bullshit.
Used a cop car and everything above board, then static on the radio in my tractor.
Have any of you heard anything about this? Regards, FM

Re: Elk hunt in Boulder

Lol, probably the first 6 point to be taken in 029 GMU in the last 20 years. I think the officers might get in trouble because they should have consulted with the DOW first.

For those who do not live in CO.

CO has laws on the books to prevent those crazy hippies from interfering with legal hunts. When I first moved here the Wildlife officer told me stories of hippies going up in the forrest banging on pot and pans, pissing everywhere and threatening hunters. You can always draw a tag in 029.

Re: Elk hunt in Boulder

I am sure the dispatcher knew as well as the supervisor and it was good with the Div. of Wildlife, so what could be the problem?
Looks like a fine bull any hunter would be proud of.
Probably late season and he tagged it and his partner was doing the butchering. We will see, but my bet is no wrong doing.
Hell of a sportsman he is. Regards, FM

Re: Elk hunt in Boulder

I'm more concerned that they discharged a firearm in a residential neighborhood when their life or someone else's wasn't threatened, and didn't file a report about the discharge.

They also killed it a 11.00 p.m. They were probably using some kind of light (let's hope so) considering it's a residential neighborhood.. LOL look at the Christmas lights on the house in the background of where he dropped it. A civilian would have been arrested and charged.

Hmm... this one smells.

Re: Elk hunt in Boulder

Nothing will surprise me on this thing.
The Fruits&Nuts in Boulder are all a different piece of work. Maybe they will hold a bonfire vigil and hold the LEOs feet to the fire. No, Not happening. The Blue line will be stretched but not break. No wrong doing.!!
This whole thing sucks big time but we will see what happens.
There is a law in Colo. about taking a trophy animal by poaching called Sampson's Law. I hope this comes into play.
I do hope this is treated FAIRLY and not just a push over or bump in the road for those involved.
My faith in humanity is riding on this and yes, LE, I still include you in humanity. Regards, FM

Re: Elk hunt in Boulder

I hope these guys get away with it just so we could see you constantly bumping your dying threads.

Just for that reason I hope this gets covered up and swept under the rug.
