Rifle Scopes eotech xps vs aimpoint h34s

Re: eotech xps vs aimpoint h34s

Also, what type of hunting? The A65 reticle is great for hunting and EOTech has a lot of leterature on how to use the reticle for holdovers. If ever doing something like pig hunting at night, you'll want the XPS3 which is NV compatible. For just small to big game during the day I do like the EOTech sights especially because of the 1 moa reticle with 65 moa ring.

Wow, surprised this hasn't been hit with Aimpoint Fanboys yet...

I am Eotech all the way, people will say Only reason people get Eotech is because they cant afford Aimpoint, but the Aimpoint Patrol Optic is just as cheap as most Eotechs right now..

The XPS models are great, more compact than the original 512+ models, with more options. You can get them with single moa dots, dual, triple, and the 65moa halo ring like Trevor mentioned for holdovers.

Just dont do something stupid and get the Biohazard version, and youll love an Eotech especially for hunting! Very clear glass.

Optics Planet has great prices, so be sure to support your local hide dealer!

Well, since it's already been hit by an Eotech fanboy, I'll jump in. Eotechs can be nice and many like them, right up until the point that they need it and it won't turn on.

is why I will never own another EOTech (and I wasn't impressed with EOTech's response to the problem). I grabbed mine, punched the button expecting a bright red circle with a dot, but it was DRT (dead batteries and compressed contacts). Fortunately, it was not a weapon deployment situation. It now sits on a "toy" gun, and the batteries are removed after every use. The reticle is great, if it works.

I switched to Aimpoint on my "go-to" for reliability & durability.

Then apparently someone doesnt know how to store a rifle, since the power buttons and brightness settings are in the rear (XPS model which we are discussing) and nothing should be touching them, unless your bag is gummed full of items.

Re: eotech xps vs aimpoint h34s

CleanMoostang:

Nothing was touching the buttons. When an EOTech is powered down, it's not completely "off". The reticle may be off, but there is still current drain. Per EOTech, their circuit design requires continuous battery drain to maintain memory of where the last intensity was set. Hence, when either button is pressed, "instant-on" unless the battery(s) dead. The XPS product line may be better, but my experience with the first one will be the last due to battery life/drain and EOTech's "well, that's the way it is" response. BTW, why do you suppose EOTech battery life is so pathetic compared to Aimpoint? It is too bad, because I really preferred the EOTech reticle.

P. S. sorry my english </div></div>

I have an Aimpoint H1 micro with the 4moa dot. Field of view and target acquistion are great IMHO. I imagine it would be plenty sufficient for 5-50 meter targets. You can also add a fixed 3x magnifier into the mix if you decide you want to have a little magnification.

Re: eotech xps vs aimpoint h34s

I've been running the same AA battery in my aimpoint since 2009. I have left it on at the range twice and discovered it was still lit up weeks later. I've also dropped it onto concrete twice. The Aimpoint keeps on going strong. Not to sound biased, but I've seen more broken EOtech threads and comments than broken Aimpoint comments/threads.

Re: eotech xps vs aimpoint h34s

Hello, I finally got a EOTECH exps2-0 from opticalplanet, all including shipments to € 470, against 650 € requested in Italy.
The Aimpoint h34s I could try it, but as speed acquisition, and field of view and 'less all'eotech, hence the choice
