Well, since it's already been hit by an Eotech fanboy, I'll jump in. Eotechs can be nice and many like them, right up until the point that they need it and it won't turn on. </div></div>

is why I will never own another EOTech (and I wasn't impressed with EOTech's response to the problem). I grabbed mine, punched the button expecting a bright red circle with a dot, but it was DRT (dead batteries and compressed contacts). Fortunately, it was not a weapon deployment situation. It now sits on a "toy" gun, and the batteries are removed after every use. The reticle is great, if it works.
I switched to Aimpoint on my "go-to" for reliability & durability.

Then apparently someone doesnt know how to store a rifle, since the power buttons and brightness settings are in the rear (XPS model which we are discussing) and nothing should be touching them, unless your bag is gummed full of items.
