Did a search on this and couldn’t find anything recent. I’ve always been an aimpoint guy but wanted to try eotech for a couple AR’s I’m building. Is there a particular model that has an advantage over another and why? Thx in advance.

If you have night vision, get the EXPS3, otherwise save the money and get the EXPS2.

Another alternative is the Vortex UH1, which has a fully enclosed housing.

The other thing to consider is that some Eotechs have BDC dots. If that is a thing you're into, it could prove useful.

I have a Vortex UH1 and prefer it over the Eotechs. That being said, it has been awhile since I have shot with the newer Eotech models.

I used to have a UH1. I used to love it until I spent a day in the mountains in the pouring rain. Then the coating on the lens turned super green like their china glass does. It made it hard to see targets it was so bad. EoTech as clear glass regardless of conditions.

I really like mine. I got two of the HWS EXPS3 version. They are night vision compatible, which is next on my shopping list.

What tipped them in my favor was my research showed they had the lowest amount of parallax error of any reflex or red dot sight out there.

If I can find the article again, I'll post it.

I don't regret getting them.

Understand but, you can't beat the warranty. That being said, if you spend a lot of time in the pouring rain, that would be an issue.

If all I cared about was the warranty, I wouldn't buy quality optics. I would just buy cheap china stuff and have vortex replace it for free every time it broke. Sure, it would save me a lot of money over time, but it would also not be very confidence inspiring. It wasn't even a lot of time. The green hue was literally so bad that I would not have even been able to positively ID someone at 50 yards. It caught me off guard because the UH1 has a slight bluish tint that didn't appear green at all. Something about that coating being exposed to a lot of moisture completely changed that. After the optic dried off and in the dry, it went back to that light bluish tint. Such a weird deal but afterwards I went back to EoTech.
