Gunsmithing Factory Threaded Savage Barrel Question

Ok so ever since I got my TBAC 30P-1, I have been wanting to try it out on my Savage 110 BA .300WM. Well I finally got around to removing the factory brake and screwing on the can. This gun normally shoots about .75 MOA or so with the brake at 100 yards. Well after screwing the can on and shoting it at 100 yards to see what kind of POA shift I may have, I discovered that it will not shoot minute of pie plate ( hardly keeps all 5 shots on a 8x11 sheet of paper) with the can on. After a little investigation I have come up with this. I think that I am not getting a good tag on the shoulder of the barrel. Here is why I think so. There seems to be some sort of spacer or something that I think is effecting good contact. Below is a pic of what I am talking about. So my question is am I correct that this is some kind of spacer and can it be removed. Also does my thinking sound correct as to why the accuracy is so poor with the can on. Thanks.

Looks like a crush washer for an AR style flash hider. Get rid of that and I think you'll see a lot of improvement.

Yeah I didn't have anything with me to try to remove it but I'll see what I can do here at the house.

Yep, crush washer used to time the brake most likely.

Try to work a knife blade behind it and work it loose.

I have the same problem with my 110 BA in .338 Lapua.
Just got back from the range, first shot baffle strike on my YHM Phantom .338.
I cant see any way to get the washer off except to cut it off.
The washer does not clear the threads.

Well I just used a little of my shitty google foo and found where people where sometimes getting lucky enough to just use a pair of pliers and grip it and thread it off. I just did that and luckily it worked for me. I actually used a set of channel locks but either should work. I am fortunate to be able to just step out the front door and be on my range with steel to 1000 yards and I just confirmed that getting rid of that washer helps a ton. Didn't even check the POI shift there might be at 100, just stepped up to 600 and walked it in with about 2 rounds and then started piling them up in what looks to be about .75 MOA so definitely an improvement. Thanks for all the help.

I know. People just don't understand how big of a problem it is. I have almost shot myself broke with this situation
