My very first visit to this site I read about these beasts, and had to give one a try! Well here it is. Actually most all the parts were purchased here in the classified section. I got the barreled action from (Notaguru). What a great guy to deal with, very patient with all my Noob questions. I got the Stock from (Kyshooter338). The BORS unit came from (Tucsondave). I have to say thanks to everyone!

On to the specs
Lawton 8000 action
Lawton Barrel 32" fluted, 1-11.5 twist, lawton Break
Lawton 40 MOA base
Mcmillan A5. It was originally OD green, but I took it to a local company here in Utah Hydrographx to have it dipped in desert digital. So far it seems to be very durable.
Nightforce NXS 5.5-22X56 with BORS

I have put 50 rounds throught it so far, and am very impressed with it. I really have alot to learn with this long range stuff, just hope I don't have to mortgage the house to feed this beast.

For the most part I have been shooting the 260gn Nosler Accubonds. Just started working up a load for the 350gn Jamison solids, we will see how they shoot this weekend.

so will the BORS display ranges out that far? im not terribly well versed on the concept but its pretty cool.

Re: Finally done with the new 375 Cheytac

Thanks Guys!
Jp If i remember correctly the BORS will display out to 2500 yards. I have only had it out to 1200 so far, and it has been dead on uphill or down hill doesn't matter. It seems to be a very nice unit.
My family and I just went out and did a little shooting today> We went to a place in Tremonton here in Utah called Spirit Ridge rifle golf. If you are ever in Utah and plan to do some shooting you definetly need to check these guy out what an awesome time. They have targets from 175 out to 1200 and everywhere between real life size animal cutouts with steel in the vitals. Check out their web site very very fun time if anyone wants to go let me know i am in.

WOW I want to be in this club!! Can a 375 CheyTac be a functional hunting rifle? What weight range do these rifle average? I have been working with 300, 338 and 375 RUMs, but I am very interested in this 375 CheyTac.

Re: Finally done with the new 375 Cheytac

I have the same questions about the weight of your rig and hunting ability. Why not change out scopes, take this to Africa and shoot dangerous game....then come home for long range stuff....best of both worlds. Would traditional Africa bullets work at those speeds? and conversely, would high BC brass solids work on dangerous game?

Re: Finally done with the new 375 Cheytac

Thanks Guys! This thing has been an absolute blast. I still can't belive how light the recoil is on this rifle.

jkkfam89 yes the Bors now works on the BORS I think they came out the first of the year. I heared they were working on making it comatable with the S&B scopes also.

I have no idea what the rifle wieghs as it is setup, since i don't own a scale of any kind. I would have to guess it is around 24-28 pounds.

If I can get comfortable shooting at distance with this thing, I am going to take it hunting this year!! ( I am an ethical hunter you guys don't need to worry about me going out and taking pop shoots at critters) I don't plan on packing this thing thought the woods all day. I usually find a good spot up high and wait.

Elk hunt starts this saturday in Utah! Wish me luck.

Re: Finally done with the new 375 Cheytac

Kyshooter that was tricky, but I machined a piece of aluminum to fit the DBM and welded it in then filled the inside with fiberglass. So far it is working really well, the rifle shoots great.

Yes but I have to ask what the hell would you be hunting?
I have a lawton in 375 if you would like to shoot it we need a range approx 2000 yds I will meet you there and you can give it a try.
Nothing like Lawton and Cheytac they go hand in hand

17lbs is about as light as you want one of these to be with the scope on it. Any lighter then that and they start to buck a bit to much....
