After a couple of weeks of contemplating the details to my custom build, I finally sent my Surgeon 591 SA and Bottom Metal to G.A. Precision for my truly first high-end custom rifle. It's been a mix of emotions since day one. I'm nervous, excited, nervous, excited, and more excited than nervous to see how my rifle will turn out. The 8-10 month, and probably longer wait, is already messing with my psyche.

Ultimately, after exchanging a series of PMs and emails with a couple of forum members, I finally decided what my work order would be requesting for my perfect build.

This is a section of the work order I sent out along with parts:

Mr. Karey Bruner,

Here is my work order for the build:

1. Surgeon 591 SA BDL Repeater(Provided)

2. Surgeon Bottom Metal (Provided)

3. McMillan A-5 stock with 6 QD flush cups, 1 front stud,
and adjustable cheek piece, and sniper fill weight. 60% Black/20% OD/20% Medium Tan

4. Chambered for .243 Winchester. Running 115grain VLD and DTAC bullets. Lapua Brass for reloading. Off the shelf ammo such as Federal, Winchester, and Hornady will be used a very small percentage of the time.

5. 24” Bartlein with MTU contour at 1.250x2.750 to .930 muzzle. 1 in 7.5 twist. 11 degree target crown. 5/8x24 thread and cap. I understand that you don’t have the MTU in stock and you would need to order it. As a result, this will extend the wait time which I do not have a problem with.

6. Jewell trigger set at 1.5lbs.

7. My scope won’t be larger than a 40mm Objective at this time, therefore, I want the lowest Badger 30mm rings you have.

8. H-146 Cerakote Graphite Black (6.8 gloss units at a 60 degree angle) finish on all metal, including Bottom Metal and scope rings. NO MATTE FINISH.

9. Stress free pillar bedding.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully,

Pablo

Can't wait for next year to roll along!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
