Hey guys, need some advice. Ive been working on my BR shooting every weekend I can. Love my rifle, its a Savage FP-SR .223 caliber and im wanting to get a few things for it.
1. I adjusted my accutrigger the other day and noticed that the cheapo stock that came with it isnt alumin bedded or anything. Im considering getting the Choate Tactical Stock. Any opinions on this stock ? Its in my price range and I like the looks of it.
2. I really HATE looking at the end of my heavy barrel. From the factory it comes with some type of screw on thread protector as the barrel comes ready for a brake. Im wondering if a brake would help me keep the site picture on in my follow through (yes i know i dont have much recoil with the .223 but any little bit can help a novice shooter right ?). What would you recommend for a brake ? Do I have to have a smith put it on or can i just turn it on myself ?
Also, not to say I didnt believe everything I read here but finally got a chance to shoot some MUCH better ammo than the cheaper stuff I bought at Walmart all last year. I went out and bought three big boxs of some nicer Hornady 55gr BTHP superperformance rounds. These fired MUCH MUCH better.
Before you guys all jump on me, remember I never shot ANY gun in my life untill last summer. Im very new but lately I can hardly work without thinking about shooting on the weekends and trying to get better.
