Hey all.

I'm still new to the long range game, however, thanks to the knolege base of this site and others I've completed my Remington 700 SPS Tactical 308. Let me know what you think, or if you have concerns, share them as well. I took it out yesterday for the first time in the new configuration and it shot well. I need some work though.

Re: Finished 700 SPS Tac

The stock is super solid. It does at a bit of weight to the rifle but makes a huge improvement over the origional Houge stock in recoil absortion. Like night and day difference.

I've only had about 80 rounds through the C Products mags since I got them last Friday but have not had a single hick up so far. They appear very solid and look nice. They do have a very small amount of play in the CDI bottom metal but from what I've read this is normal.

The material on the stock is just that rifle wrap you can buy just about anywhere. The finish on the stock is smooth enough that it is almost slippery so I put it on there to provide for a better grip and it does the trick well. Also I think it looks neat and kinda dresses the rifle up a little. Also it leaves no residue because its not adhesive but when you wrap it to itself, it sticks like glue.

This setup should shoot very well for you. I read that you are new to this game, so take the time and learn everything that you can about proper marksmanship and ballistics. Learn this weapon inside and out, and become proficient with it. I don't see a location on your profile, but if you are anywhere near NC, you are more than welcome to come shoot with me sometime.

Thanks for the invite. I've been having a great time learning the different aspects of this sport and look foreward to my progression. I live north of San Francisco so if anyone wants to meet up give me a shout.
