Ok..i know there is probably alot of threads on this subject. Ive spoke to a few different guys about different "coatings".. is cerakote the best way to go on a barreled action? People mentioned teflone, dura, etc...im probably gonna go with the ionbond for my bolt..just curious about the rest. Thanks

My personal favorites are <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">Birdsong Finishes</span></span>. Used by the Navy, FBI, LASD, USSSD, USDOE, (and lots of other alphabet agencies as either the agency or department's de facto finish or through Tac Ops weapons). Birdsong finishes combine super heavy-duty corrosion resistance and built-in lubricity. Below is a photo of my personal X-Ray 51 with metalwork finished in Tac Ops traditional contrasting color scheme of <span style="font-style: italic">"Tac Ops OD"</span> Green-T & Black-T.

I can't speak for CeraKote, but I can for DuraCoat. I used it on my guns(stocks and metal parts), sprayed it myself with an HVLP, and I love it. I know a number of smith's using DuraCoat to coat all the firearms they buld so that's what I went with. Not sure if CeraKote is the same but I see quite a few guys using it as well.

Well ive heard ionbond is best, when on the bolt it will work better and look new after numerous cycles
